If probate is a new or relatively unknown term to you, know you’re in good company. Until a loved one passes away, it’s thankfully something most of us don’t have to think about.
Probate is simply the legal process of sorting out the affairs of someone who has passed away: identifying their assets and liabilities, and with the help of probate court(s), selling those assets to pay off liabilities and distributing what remains to their heirs.
Real estate is a major component of most probates, and it’s important to have an agent on your side who understands this process and can connect you with the appropriate professionals. If any of the following scenarios sound like yours, I’d be happy to be a resource for you:
- You’re just beginning the process, and are looking for a probate attorney and other professionals and resources to get started.
- You’ve started the probate process, but need an agent to complete a comparative market analysis (CMA) and sell your property.
- Your loved one passed away, their estate is not in Florida, but they have real estate in Florida that needs to be probated and sold.
- Your loved one passed away years ago, you gave up on the Florida probate process, and would like an experienced guide to help you.
I’m not an attorney, and can’t give you legal advice. However, I can connect you with the appropriate professionals who can. As someone who has worked with dozens of probate real estate properties throughout Florida, and is a Certified Probate Real Estate Specialist (CPRES), I’d love the opportunity to help you!
