Does it make sense to have insurance on your land?
Most landowners I know don’t have insurance on their land. Nonetheless, it’s something to consider if you’re a current landowner or looking to buy your first property.
When I talk about insurance here, I’m referring to liability insurance. Your policy protects you if something happens on your land and you’re found at fault. The chances of this happening are fairly slim, but there’s always a chance.
Liability insurance for land is pretty affordable, but every property is different so you’ll want to get a quote from an insurance agent. I’ve personally used the National Real Estate Insurance Group to insure different properties I’ve owned. You can learn more about them and get a quote at nreig.com.
